LIKE FATHER LIKE SON

Fardeen is the son of one of the most sylish actors of yesteyers, Feroze Khan.  In his time FK Sr. cut a dashing figure with his well cut jackets and neat trousers as he played macho man in countless movies. Fardeen, unlike many star sons, is well educated.  He has a degree in management from UM, the University of Massachusets. In fact, he has studied abroad a lot, which  has told upon his accent.  However, he does speak decent hindustani (a mixture of Urdu and Hindi).

FIRE OF LOVE

Dear Papa launched Fardeen in Prem Aggan, a 1998 flick costarring him with Meghna Kothari in 1998.  The movie was a usual rich girl poor (or rather not-too-rich) boy, zalim zamana that wants to see them apart and a love-conquers-all end.  It had some steamy sequences to entice viewers.  The movie flopped but girls liked the handsome anglicised Fardeen. 

LOST IN A JUNGLE

Fardeen teamed up with Ram Gopal Verma to create a celluloid version of Veerappan, where Urmila is abducted by a jungle dacoit.  Fardeen jumps into the jungle to save his love.  There were some sweet songs here - Do pyaar karne wale jungle me, kho gaye. This Jaideep Sahni written movie, Jungle was topical, and a hit.

Fardeen stayed in the the RGV camp to bring Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, co-starring Urmila once more in this cinematic tale of love and obsession.  The focus was on Urmila who put in a good performance as an unbalanced young woman who is obsessed by a married man, Fardeen.  The movie was well made, though it did not see much success.  Its songs, Kambakht Ishq and the title track Pyar tune kya kiya stayed on the popular charts forever. Fardeen performed well.

ANYTHING FOR LOVE

Up next was the hilarious E Niwas movie Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. Fardeen plays an unemployed youth who finds himself teaming up with his roommate Aftab Shivdasani and Saif Ali Khan in a kidnapping scheme to earn some quick money. The story was funny and well executed and Fardeen, Saif, Aftab and Sonali Bendre put in a great performance.  The songs were again a big hit. The title track Love ke liye saala kuch bhi karega, the bhai song, Aslam Bhai, love duet Raama Raama were very popular.

Having the song of a movie playing continously on all music channels means additional publicity for the movie.  Which is why all bollywood filmmakers try to put in catchy item numbers in their movies.  Thanks to all this, the movie did very well.

SO NEAR AND SO FAR

So far so good for Fardeen.  He had a name for himself as the hot young actor, who did a decent job of the roles he was given. His next movie Kitne Door .. Kitne Pass with Amrita Arora was viewed with interest, ss a youth romance.  The movie did not set the box office on the fire though.

Om Jai Jagdish was the debut movie of Anupam Kher, as a director.  He is a great actor, but the movie, despite names like Abhishek, Anil Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Urmila and Fardeen flopped on its face.  Khushi was a happy girl-boy romance with lilting songs.  Fardeen co-starred here with hot and happening Kareena Kapoor.  Alas, the movie had very little substance.

For Bhoot, Fardeen returned to the RGV camp.  He had to share credits with Ajay Devgan and Urmila, but the movie was a success.

FORMULA FOR BABY

Papa Feroze pitched in with one more formula flick for his baby Fardeen, Jaanasheen.  He co-starred with the fresh Miss India hottie Celina Jaitley.  Celina stood in thigh deep water and wore a bikini and played a violin for a song.  Papa also acted in the movie alongside beta.  But the movie lit no fires at the box office.

Fardeen's 2004 stint was better. Govind Nihalani's Dev with Kareena, Amitabh was critically acclaimed.

Ken Ghosh came up with a romantic thriller, Fida where Fardeen played a devious young man with a criminal plan.  He was aided by Kareena and her then boyfriend, Shahid Kapur.  A racy movie with great songs.  The movie was a moderate success in the box office, and a plus point for Fardeen as far as acting was concerned.

FULL ENTRY

Anees Bazmi's No Entry starred Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan and Bipasha.  These were the big stars.  Fardeen was also there with Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley and a few others.  He was a young photographer who gets dragged into women problems along with his boss.  However, the movie was one of the biggest movies of 2005.

Shaadi No 1 tried to cash in on a similar story line of comedy springing out of straying husbands.  But alas, it was a flop.

PLAYERS NOT ALLOWED

Supam Verma came with Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena in 2005 with Fardeen, Koena Mitra, Kay Kay Menon and Feroze Khan himself.  Despite a sizzling number Ankhian na maar dildar mundiya with three dancing hotties, Rakhi Sawant, Mumait Khan and Zabyn Khan, the movie fizzled out.  Sonny boy wasnt ready yet to carry a movie on his own shoulders.

In Pyare Mohan Fardeen teamed up with Vivek Oberoi to unleash a laugh riot.  Fardeen and Vivek played a blind and a deaf man who unwittingly take on the mafia and through many comical capers, and defeat them.

LUCKYY BABYY

Darling endeared no one, and the plea Just Married did not bring in enough wedding guests.

Fardeen got lucky with Heyy Babyy, Sajid Khan's first directorial venture, though he had to share his success with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.  The movie did great business and a sequel is in offing

GOSSSSSIP

Fardeen was caught buying cocaine from a drug dealer a while back. 

He was involved with most of his co-stars in the early days. 

Before he left for MU, USA, he was dating Pooja Bhatt.

He was involved for a long time with Ruhani but they broke up when he was going thru a bad patch career wise.

He is now married to Natasha Madhwani, the daughter of the yesteryers bollywood star Mumtaz and Mayur Madhwani. His wedding was a big event in bollywood and was well attended by all the major celebrities of the filmworld.

He is part of a mini filmi clan too. His father Feroze Khan and uncle Sanjay Khan were famous bollywood stars during the sixties. His cousin Zayed is also trying to make it big into the film world.  His other cousin, Suzzane Khan is married to Hritik Roshan. The famous DJ Aqeel is also married to one of his cousins.
