Junior Artish Om Prakash Makhija (Shahrukh Khan) falls in love with Shanti (Deepika Padukone) a superstar. Om saves her life and becomes pals. Tragically Om dies and is reborn as Om Kapoor (SRK) son of megastar Rajesh Kapoor (Javed Shaikh) but with fear of fires. Om Kapoor sets out to find reason for Om Prakash Makhija's death.
